Gibson LP Tribute 70s: poor quality

This looks gorgeous, even if it is not as "gold"? as I thought. It is more like yellow or light brown. The headstock?is pretty large and angled to the neck, which adds to the vintage look.?The back of the body is dark brown. Very stylish look, and not "vintage worn".?Out of the box:? 1) a small dent, on the back towards the upper edge, this must have happened before final packaging by Gibson as all the packaging was perfect.? 2) very dry fretboard.? 3)razor sharp fret ends 4) excessively high bridge pick up (poles contact strings when fretting already at 12th fret) ?5)t wo knobs insufficiently inserted over pot post, and misaligned relative to the pots. All above shows a combination of poor workmanship at the last steps of assembly, and a lack of quality control.
The sustain is endless, the pickups are very powerful, warm and rich. They sound great without distortion. The neck is fat, which I am sure contributes to the incredible sustain. Overall, it is not a light guitar.
To note the lack of pick up covers that leaves the winding in sight. This may be part of the "stripped down" look, but I personally prefer to have covers for protection.
The gigbag has a thick padding but I consider it more as a dust cover than a real carrying bag. For this price, this guitar should be sold with a plastic case.
Gibson should get clear messages that they cannot put on the market a "proudly made in Nashville, USA" product with such poor quality control and workmanship. All guitars I got from Mexico and the Far East were absolutely perfect. The other Gibson I have (LP Junior) also had a dent out of the box, on the neck upper side - constantly in sight. I wonder why we tend to be so forgiving towards US made Gibson, whereas we tend to be merciless with Chinese, Korean, Indonesian etc products.

poor set up and marked finish have done nothing to take away from this rock beast , a little while setting it to an easily reached set up and this thing SCREAMS , does a nice clean although not fender pristine its a nice enough sound ,lovely guttsy blues sound and the balance between pickups allows the old rhythm/lead switch trick , the neck is a biting snarl but easily tamed whilst the neck is a deep smooth buttery sound this guitar does rock and roll to blues to full on rock with ease , learn your amp and this is an all tricks pony . the neck is a relatively slim profile no ibanez wizard, closer to a slim c fender style and is lovely, smooth and fast enough with enough girth and beef to feel like a neck not a bat , now i just need a marshall to put it through although my fender mustang shows the guitar off nicely. The finish is more brass than gold but very very pleasing , kidney tuners and ratio are superb , witch hat knobs complement the overall nicely definitely one to invest a little time effort and a little (cheap price) money in. overall this is a guitar you could live with for a very long time

Great sound and all you would expect from Gibson regarding sound.

Poor setup (unplayable)

Poor fret finishing, razor sharp edges.

After spending £70.00 on fret finishing a good set of strings and a pro setup the guitar now plays and sounds like a Gibson should.
