Great product, could be cheaper
Personally I liked the old version which had a wooden handle instead of the black plastic. It just looked cooler, but that's only aesthetics, it does not affect the functionality of the product.
Only possible con I could think of is the price, you get a small amount of product so I suspect the manufacturer is making huge margins on it. On the other hand, it is quite affordable and it will last you very long. A can lasts me about a year, with about two applications per week on average.
New users of GHS Fast Fret may be tempted to apply too much of it, as you don't really see anything on the strings. Rest assured that just one pass is enough, and wipe the excess with the provided piece of cloth afterwards. You want just a little bit on your strings. If you put too much on, then it will feel oily and uncomfortable to play.
A Must have guitar cleaning Agent!
Very helpful for longer playing
Perfect for using in concerts when you've been playing for an hour or more and your hands and strings have become sticky and it's become difficult to get across the frets, you can just apply it in the intermission and it's easy to play and slide again. The same goes for the long rehearsals when you also can apply it to regain the feeling of ease when the strings have become sticky.
Overall easy to apply and easy to remove any excess oil with the cloth that comes with it. Perfect for playing longer duration events and for just keeping your strings cleaner and faster too.
simply a must
I know a few friends who use this though, and don?t really understand the difference between this and taking care/cleaning your fret board.
I use Dunlop lemon lemon oil on my fretboard (which I recommend) to keep it clean and in good condition, but the fast fret is really for string care.
Before using FastFret, I always used to get this kind of rusty/dry feeling on my strings after a few weeks, i guess from sweat, which just made it not so pleasurable to pick up my guitar.
Now, using this product, my strings always feel great, until replacing. It won?t keep them sounding new, but will keep them feeling new(ish).
People complain about the greasiness, but I always use this AFTER playing/practicing, give it a quick wipe off, and then when i pick my guitar up again, another quick wipe, and its fine.
It wont make you play faster as the name suggest, but it will for sure make sliding up and down those used strings a bit more enjoyable.
There is also that sense of satisfaction which comes with doing a little bit of upkeep to your guitar each time you play.
