Thomann Cyberstore FAQ List

How secure is it to order on the internet?

The Thomann Cyberstore is very secure. We do not just say that, we guarantee it!

Not a single customer of our one million customers all over Europe has reported problems with her/his credit card and there have never been privacy problems with sensitive data.

At Thomann we guarantee that your data is treated confidentially and secure and that under no circumstances your data is passed on to third parties - never, not for advertisement, not for statistics or finance checks etc. Before information concerning addresses and credit cards is transferred to us it is encoded by a secure server so that no one except for your contact person and the webmaster are able to have a look at it.

In principle, hardly anything can happen when internet shopping, if you take into account the following notes:

1. Security server

Before transferring sensitive data such as your credit card number etc. please make sure that the respective online-shop is using a secure server.
For years Thomann has been using such a secure server that transfers encoded data only. This means that during the transfer from your desk to that of your contact person at Thomann all your data is encoded and cannot be inspected by hackers. Credit card information is deleted from reply-mails.

2. Curious people

Information that is not transferred via the secure server is normally not encoded and could theoretically be inspected by hackers.

Practically, it is very unlikely that anyone could understand the data.

3. Seriousness

There are hundreds of sellers on the internet, who - if at all - only have a trade license. No warehouses, no dealer authorisations, no official distributors. Everybody can offer low prices and require advance payment, but only a few can deliver brand new products from official suppliers with quick deliveries and high service standards in addition to fair prices.

In general, serious dealers offer a money back guarantee of at least 14 days. Thomann offers you even 30 days for most of the current products.
If a dealer does not offer you a money back guarantee at all you should be very careful.

4. References

There is a variety of references where you can inform yourself of the seriousness of an internet-seller. Although portals such as DooYoo and Ciao every now and then contain unfair evaluations or self-praise, they provide a good overview of the industry.
The Thomann Cyberstore has excellent references and therefore has been the number one for musicians all over Europe for years.
Our regular customer base contains thousands of important co-operation partners from the best known artists and record companies to the biggest corporations and institutions like national operas and we warmly welcome you as our new reference customer.
