I've owned dozens of guitars since i started playing 25 years ago. But last year i got into a creative rut and decided to try something a bit different. This is the first 7 string owned and the first baritone i've played. The extra string opens up a lot of possiblity and creativity. I'm a huge Deftones fan and Stephen has designed a great guitar with ESP.

For a maple/Adler neck-thru, it's a very light guitar. It balances very well and is very easy to play. The neck is superb, have just the right amount of access to upper frets as well as enough wood to really grab on to those big chords.

EMGs are not everyones favourite, but they work really well with this guitar. Not too bright with plenty of low end. The baritone scale helps give chords and open notes a bell like clarity. Huge sounding!!! The middle pickup may look strange, but it doesn't get in the way and switching to it helps smoothe out the sound for lead work.

The locking tuners work incredibly well in keeping the guitar in tune, especially at lower tunings, but the baritone scale helps with this too.

The String thru body and tune-o-matic locking bridge is very comfortable and the string-thru body design help with sustain.

Over all i am very happy with this guitar. For almost a 3rd of the price of the real ESP version you can't go wrong with the quality it provides.
