Probably the best budget priced tube amp available. Considering the price is less than £250 the tone and features you get for so little money is brilliant. Tho there may be a few issues. Good varirty of nice warm sweet tones from both the clean channel and the gain channel. Overall tone is probably somewhere between the sound of a fender deluxe and a vox ac30. Very nice natural overdrive and a very usable in built reverb. The stock greenbackstyle speaker is surprisingly good also. The pentode triode mode further increases the variey of tones available. An excellent feature that you would normally only see on higher priced amps. One note was the stock tubes are not great and amp arrived with a microphonic tube and a lot of tube rattle. But a quick message to thomann customer services and they sent me a set of jj tubes for free to fick the matter so fantastic customer service. Amp sounds great both with my single coil tele and humhucker les paul.Overall a great budget amp that punches well above its rate. In facr my bandmates who usually use a fender bassman and marshall vintage modern respectivelt both totally love the tone im gettin through it. I doubt you could find a better sounding amp under £500.

very pleased. Its a really nice amp. For its price the clear sound really rocks!
I didn t like its gain channel. The stock tubes rattled a lot. Thanks to thomman (they sent me for free) change the preamp tubes. However I still have tube rattling of the power amp stock tubes.

Generally, I m very glad of buying it.

Have you always wanted a nice all valve guitar amp but can't afford spending big $$$ for one? Well here you go, this one is exactly for you. For a fraction of price of amps with similar features and power, Bugera V22 delivers that all loved valve sound to you.

It has it all you ever need: normal and bright input (rolls off some bass), amazing clean channel - you'll fall in love with that one, nice drive channel, modified marshall-ish equalizer with mid boost, presence control, pentode & triode mode, nice reverb to add ambiance to your sound. It's driven with 3 12ax7 valves (one for clean, additional one to drive it up, and one for phase inverter) and two push-pull configured el84 valves in power amp delivering about 22W power to 70W (suprisingly) very good sounding Bugera speaker. Switching is done by a relay controlled by a footswitch or a button on amp. You can also switch reverb on or off with that footswitch. The amp box itself is solid, open back, very nice quality.

Why so cheap? Well, back in 'those good days' amps where made wiring it point-to-point (every circuits component had a wire soldered connection), that made them very sturdy and easy to repair, but every amp had to be hand made - very expensive. This amp uses today's tech - printed circuit board (made and assembled by automatic robots - cheap, easy mass producable) witch "as they say" is prone to break due to heat from valves and vibration. Hell, I say that if the thing's PCB breaks after 10 years of use, I could always find a tech (or in my case DIY) and mostly wire it point-to-point old-school style, the amp total parts cost is about the same as amp price and this price it's a real steal.

All the pros, what about cons? Well, there is onefor tech guys (for most of you, skip ahead to next section), output valves are fixed bias, that can be adjusted by one knob for both valves on back. All you can get from amp is RCA connector witch shows applied negative control grid voltage. That is somewhat useless for proper bias calculation and also individual output tube bias would be nice.

I highly recommend this amp to everyone except maybe over-the-top-gain metal etc players. They kind of need something bigger, meaner. This amp can deliver form ballad cleans to bluesy grind to hard rock. It's loud enough for most band practices, medium stages, clubs etc. Any louder you should go trough PA anyway. Ar you a loudness freak and it's not loud enough for ya'? Get V55 witch is basically 55W version of the same amp with pair of 6l6 output valves in it.

Amazing amp for the price!

I purchased this amplifier after looking online for weeks trying to figure out the right one for me. I play blues and some classic rock and the range of tones that this amp can produce are perfect! I upgraded from the Laney Cub series to this and the difference in volume and tone is amazing!

First, the clean tones are pure and clean with just that little bit of bite that you want and higher volumes. The gain channel can range from just slightly gritty to full on classic rock crunch. To round it all out there is built in reverb (which sounds pretty good for digital), high & low inputs and the Pentode / Triode modes to get lot of different sound combinations.

I use this amplifier with a Vox Tonelab EX and it takes the effects very nicely. The addition of the effects loop is a huge bonus!

The only issue I had was the first one I received had a defect in the wiring or something and had to be returned. That being said, Thomann responded quickly and sent me a new one as soon as I shipped the old one back. Great customer service!!

All in all this is a very solid amp and gives you that classic boutique sound for a very low price!
