Overpriced and not effective without extras
tacocat 07.09.2022
The very unfortunately named BBG...
Considering the price - you might think it's made from some solid, yet light metal alloy.

No, it's just plastic, a little bit of rubber, and some mesh fabric.
It comes in a completely plain cardboard box with no extras.
This item in itself, is not going to be effective against wind.
It only works well together with the synthetic fur, which isn't even included (and is of course equally overpriced).

It works well overall, but the pricing and what you get for your money here I can't say I'm too impressed with Rycote.

Anyway, moving on:
My Audio Technica BP4025 just fits inside.
The top of the mic presses a bit against the top half, it's a very tight squeeze, but it will fit inside with the foam on.
Edit: This actually pulled the "ball" apart and I had to glue it back together. So while it's possible - it's a very tight fit with this microphone.

This configuration overall works quite well for wind protection, and offers some environment protection for your microphone.

However, for field recording you probably want to additionally purchase a shock mount grip as well, and then things are starting to really add up in price.
If you don't mind a full size blimp, you have some good alternatives where you will get a complete kit with the grip/mounting, fur and a carrying bag, for the same price they charge you just for these bits of plastic in a nondescript cardboard box.
