Any amplifier will work with the Variax but a Line6 amp will maximise the Variax’s strengths by virtue of a noiseless digital connection.
An integrated system allows you to save your exact setup including all amp settings. If you have to punch in a month after an original recording session, simply recall your settings.
The locking digital Variax cable not only carries the guitar signal but also power, and offers bi-directional control of the Variax. Line 6’s amps and Pod XT Live pedalboard remember the guitar’s model setting, pickup selection and exact tone control settings so you can switch from a heavy metal crunch with lots of reverb and one amp to a dry acoustic guitar at the push of a single footswitch without having to touch the guitar’s controls. This allows incredible versatility in live use.
Variax Workbench software is available free to all Variax owners. This software allows a wide range of features including the ability to design custom tunings and save them to the guitar.
