Yamaha FC-7

Kvaliteten af pedalen er rigtig god. Vinkel på pedalen kan reguleres en smule samt distancen på fjederen (hvor langt pedalen kan trykkes ned). Desuden kan kablet opmagasineres i selve pedalen under transport.
Når dette er sagt, er pedalen rædselsfuld at betjene. Vinklen på pedalen er simpelthen for stor, uanset hvordan man indstiller den. Specielt når man benytter den stående, er man nødt til at placere pedalen langt inde under klaveret samt bøje ned i knæ, for at nå pedalens udgangsposition. Desuden er pedalen unødvendigt stor. Den fylder meget i en taske, hvis man tager den med rundt til gigs, og tager også for meget plads under keyboardet, hvis man har flere end to pedaler.

I bought this pedal because it has a very low profile and long travel. I thought that this would permit more fine grained control when playing on my synths, -and it probably will after installing another potentiometer... This pedal has a logarithmic travel signal which makes it practically useless for fine grained control when playing on synths.
I am, however, keeping the unit because of the low profile and long travel, and I will attempt to swap out the potentiometer with a linear one instead of the logarithmic.

Bought the FC-7 about a month ago to replace a Boss (itself a good pedal), because the longer throw of the FC-7 is an advantage for organ swell. No regrets.

Pros:
- It may be because of the longer throw in itself, but the FC-7 gives me substantially better control of the swell, which I vary almost continuously. It works very smoothly, and is light to the touch.
- The option to let the pedal bounce back from 'full throttle' is very useful, not least because it can be adjusted to taste.
- The pedal is quite heavy, is almost fully rubberised, and does not go 'walkabout', even on smooth surfaces.
- The connecting cable stores nicely inside for transport. Nice touch that the connector clicks in a small clamp to hold the cable in place. Simple, but appreciated in everyday use.

Cons:
- Cable/connector appears a bit 'light' (but has worked fine, so far).
- Would perhaps prefer a female TRS jack connection to let you chose connector and cable yourself (but then again, the internal storage is nice and simple).

Please note:
- I've only had the FC-7 for a short while - but it is rugged, and the build suggests that it will last a looong time.
- Also note that I haven't tried the option to raise a small spike on the underside to give a more comfortable angle for players when sitting down. But I would do so with caution, because it looks as if it is likely to scratch the surface beneath. Plus you need a screwdriver to use it, and again to reverse it for transport/storage (it is quite sharp, and may damage or scratch whatever it's stored with). Anyway, I'm positioned fairly high, and the standard tilt works fine for me.

For my use, the pros far outweigh the cons. This is a very straightforward product, the kind that lets you concentrate on the fun part: playing music. Highly recommended.

Everything above still holds. Very happy with the FC-7.
