Power Pop Punk! the nicest alliteration in the history of music! What can you promise with that music genre?!

HEARTBREAK STEREO: High-energy live shows and great melodic records!


What would happen if the bandname was: HEARTBRAKE MONO?

HEARTBREAK STEREO: Well it´s been heartbreak studio, heartbrake stereo, heart brake stereo on different flyers and in magazines, but never yet heartbrake mono. A friend told me if any of us does a solo record it should be called heartbreak mono.


Punk is NOT dead, tell us three reasons why it will NEVER die!

HEARTBREAK STEREO: Well, punk rock music is just so good that it can´t die! People need some good old punk rock to level out all the shitty commercial music out there. Punk is in the people. It´s not about profits, so it will always be around unlike other genres that basically exist to make money...like a trend.


Less is more! You don´t need a orchestra to excite an audience! Tell us something about your equipment?

HEARTBREAK STEREO: We´re a trio and we like to keep it simple. We like to sweat and bleed on stage and create that high energy between the three of us. Instead of using lots of different effects or distortion pedals. One guitar and a distortion pedal, one bass, and a one rack, one floor basic drum setup. Less is truly more.


You come from a small village in Finland. Is it hard to establish as a bloody Punkband if you´re not exactly from London or Los Angeles?

HEARTBREAK STEREO: Well, to get established as good band in a smalltown you just need to know how to play and write a few good songs. Then you try to get shows and a name in the next city. Always moving up to the next bigger city, then maybe get to Sweden for shows, then Germany and so on... Maybe establishing as a band in LA or London you need to make it big right away somehow. I don´t really know, I´m not from there.


If you would have the decision to support one of these unknown bands, it would be: Angry Amputees / Midnight Evils / Lamont?

HEARTBREAK STEREO: Angry Amputees sounds really good! All sounds good but i´d go for the Angry Amputees. Who doesn´t like female vocals!


How did you find to the german Punklabel Rookie Records?

HEARTBREAK STEREO: The guys from Rookie records were in Finland for a music expo and our good friend/somewhat manager talked him in to signing us. Then we met up with them while touring back in 2009 I think. We released two full-lengths on Rookie records / Boss tunage.


In Berlin is a pub called "Clash". It´s allowed to smoke inside, you pay for a beer 2,20 ?, the music plays fucking loud and every millimeter in the toilet is plastered from floor to ceiling with stickers (above all with "against racism"). Is the bar in your opinion a real punkbar and would you pay a visit?

HEARTBREAK STEREO: I know of that bar. We have never played there but sounds like a cool bar. Some of our friend bands have played there a lot. Yeah, cheap beer sounds good to me!


Let us assume, you stop making music and set up your own pub. Would you do something differently?

HEARTBREAK STEREO: I´d have the music play even louder!


[B]New double EP out 2012! When exactly? Double EP? Why not one LP?

HEARTBREAK STEREO: Don´t have a exact release date, early summer though. Gonna be a double EP cause there´s gonna be our EP from 2011 which we only released as CD-R and free download and now a new EP from 2012. Anyway, there are not enough songs or minutes to make it an official LP. So I´d just be a longer EP.
