..the only choice for me when it comes to VICFIRTH STICK type brushes the ones with the yellow handles (Steve Smith model) only last for about 3 gigs..after that whats left over is only any good for scratching your back or propping up a garden plant!

Good...but not great

I've used these in several different settings and overall they are GREAT Rute brushes...perfect for in between regular brushes and sticks...but they do tend to chip away a little easily around the tips...which is normal to an extent.

Gehts nicht leiser?

"Sag mal kannst du nicht leiser spielen?" Diese Frage hat wohl schon so ziemlich jeder Drummer gehört. Und wenn man nicht weniger hart schlagen will, dann sind Rutes doch genau die richtige Lösung. Sie finden allerdings nicht nur in solchen Situationen, in denen man mal zu laut ist Anwendung, sondern auch wenn man einen bestimmten Sound, irgendwo zwischen Stick und Besen haben will.

Verarbeitung:
16 Einzelstäbe, die allesamt tadellos verarbeitet sind. Vic Firth eben. Auch der Griff (19,1mm Durchmesser) fühlt sich angenehm an. Keiner der Stäbe ist mir bis jetzt gebrochen (Hab die Rutes schon seit einem Jahr relelmäßig in Gebrauch).

Spielgefühl:
Irgendwo zwischen den guten Rebound eines normalen Sticks und den praktisch nicht vorhandenen Rebound von Besen. Manche Drummer sagen, ein Wirbel sei mit Rutes nicht möglich, was allerdings nicht stimmt. Mit genügnd Technik, sind auch Wirbel leicht möglich, allerdings mit so dicht wie mit Sticks.

Sound:
Der Sound befindet sich irgendwo zwischen Sticks und Besen. Die Ansprache ist nicht so definiert wie bei normalen Stöcken (wie denn auch bei 16 einzelnen Stäben), aber doch weit klarer als bei Brushes.

Fazit: "Die Originalen" von Vic Firth sind verarbeitungsmäßig auf einem Top Level und uneingeschränkt zu empfehlen
