Very sturdy and minimal tone loss

I got the Palmer PLI-05 to compare with the Radial SB-6 and Behringer HD400 for the purpose of removing extra noise from my pedalboard and amp setup. I am using a HX Effects in 4CM which is already notorious for adding some hiss but also ran into an issue of ground loop buzz in the FX loop of my amp (a modded Marshall). I wish the Palmer also had an option to change polarity of the other channel if needed and it would be bonus to be able to lift the ground on individual channels but nevertheless the isolator works fine for my use. Out of the three options it was the only one that did not show a significant drop in level and I could not really hear any tone loss to worry about. For my purposes the Palmer is the winner.

Good enough to be part of my gears

I got some troubles with a hand made crossover/preamp, I used this line isolator to reduce to the maximum the interferences and it works !!
Of course the ground noise couldn't be wiped out but everybody could say that with these gears the whole Sound system sounds better !

Eliminiert zuverlässig Störgeräusche

Ich besitze 2 dieser Isolationsboxen und kann nur Positives darüber berichten.

Eine Box benutze ich, um Störgeräusche in meinen Monitorboxen zu beseitigen. Diese gingen offenbar von der Grafikkarte im Rechner aus, denn sobald Fenster bewegt wurden, hörte man das. Wurde ganz schlimm, wenn man etwas in 3D gestartet und eine entsprechende Last auf der Grafikkarte erzeugt hat. Ich habe alles durchprobiert: verschiedene Audio-Interfaces (PCIe, Firewire, USB), die externen Interfaces bus- und external-powered, Umstecken von Grafikkarte und PCIe Sound-Karte, verschiedene Kabel, verschiedene Stromanschlüsse (wobei ich nicht sicher bin, dass das am Ende nicht doch dieselbe Leitung ist)... Ich habe dann diese Box ausprobiert und sie zwischen Audio-Interface und Monitorcontroller gehängt. Sobald der "Ground Lift"-Kopf gedrückt ist, verschwinden die Störgeräusche endlich.

Die zweite Box benutze ich gelegentlich am Ausgang meines Pedalboards, da habe ich in einer speziellen Verkabelung Störgeräusche im Speaker. Auch diese konnte die Box zuverlässig eliminieren.

Die Soundqualität ist top, ich kann keine Signalbeeinträchtigung oder -abfall feststellen, wenn die Box irgendwo zwischengeschaltet wird. Build-Qualität ist super, sehr stabil gebaut ("Panzer"), werde ich wohl irgendwann einmal vererben können. Übrigens sind bei mir bei beiden Boxen aufklebbare Gummifüße dabei gewesen. Der Preis ist nicht unbedingt günstig, aber mir ist ein guter Sound beim Recording und Mixing ohne Störgeräusche wichtig. Und da die Qualität überzeugt, ist diese Box aus meiner Sicht die Anschaffung wert.

la solution pour supprimer les buzz de masse entre amplis

Guitariste, ça faisait des années que je voulais travailler avec 2 amplis (lampes) en stéréo MAIS le buzz (50Hz) inhérent à une telle installation rendait ce projet irréalisable. Avec le Palmer c'est enfin possible plus de buzz, le son est clean !

Utilisation
J'utilise une pédale chorus MXR pour obtenir un signal stéréo (L+R) que j'envoie : L à l'ampli A, R à l'ampli B en passant par le canal 1 du Palmer.
Comme le Palmer possède 2 canaux, je fait la même chose avec le signal stéréo de la réverb numérique qui est en insert dans l'ampli A .

Avantages
C'est petit, solide (boitier en acier), simple, accepte les jacks symétrique ou assymétriques. Le switch inverseur de phase permet de trouver la bonne config.

Inconvénient
Un peu cher pour l'idée qu'on se fait d'un circuit passif, mais vu la qualité et le service rendu, je n'ai aucun regret.
