This China just stands out from anything else that I've used. It cuts through in both a live and studio setting whilst still not sounding at all "bongy". This is a dry-sounding china but also retains a very pleasing tonality.

The only downside to this cymbal is that it can be quite prone to cracking. I'm not that much of a hard hitter, and I cracked one of these after 5 years. However, with that said, I was using a soft cymbal case, so that could have been a factor also.

All in all, once you use this, you may find it hard to use anything else!

Nachdem mein altes Billigchina nach einem Transport gerissen ist, wurde es Zeit, mir ein vernünftiges China zu holen.

Da ich in meiner direkten Umgebung keinen Musikladen habe, wo ich umfangreich Chinas testen kann, habe ich aufgrund von Soundfiles (Mycymbal dot com hilft da ;) ) mich für dieses China entschieden.

Pros:
+ großer Dynamikbereich von sehr leise bis sehr laut
+ dreckiges China mit Wuhancharakter
+ vielseitig einsetzbar/wunderbar als Trashride
+ verschiedene Klangzonen: am Rand wie ein Crash dreckig, laut, langes Sustain; direkt an der Krempe kurzer fauchiger Ton, mit einer Mischung aus "KÄNG" und "KSCH"; zwischen Krempe und Kuppe Trashridecharakter; dreckig-klingende Bell
+ eigentlich von Jazz bis Metal (wo ich es einsetze) durchweg nutzbar

Negativ:
- Preis. Versteht mich nicht falsch, es ist ein wunderbares China; allerdings finde ich die Byzance-Serie generell etwas zu teuer. Ähnlich klingende Chinas wie z.B. das Holy China von Sabian kosten deutlich weniger.

Fazit: Wer bei Chinabecken eher auf "KSCH" als auf "KÄNG" steht, dem sei dieses China wärmstens empfohlen, da es schön klingt, große Dynamikreichweite besitzt und sehr vielseitig einsetzbar ist.

Cymbale au son très riche, les Byzance traditionnelles sont plus brillantes que les séries dark et extra dry (qui sont mes cymbales de tempo) mais gardent un côté sombre. Elle est parfaite pour les pêches et pour marquer le temps à des tempos lents. Par contre le sustain est un peu trop long pour les tempos rapides ou des accents précis, surtout si comme moi avant vous avez une china de 14".
