Hard wearing and great tone for a long time

I use this on Premier Genista 1990s drum kits , thin birch shell undersized. it is a like a thicker G1 head , its heavier and more durable these heads take away some of the plentiful birch attack , and add a nice warm resonant tone , half modern half vintage in nature . also take a superb beating for a long time before losing energy and life. i found g1 to thin sounding and g2 to dead sounding , this is in between and to me is a best kept secret for tone . im using g1 resonant heads. they also tune and hold tune very well., i think they suit 14 and 16 inch floor toms best in this thickness of ply. i havent tried the coated but i expect it would be the best one for birch but i dont like coated heads on toms generally.

Die Felle lassen sich leicht stimmen, klingen vom Sound her ein bisschen wie mit dem EQ bearbeitet. Sprechen aber in leisen Dynamik Stufen auch schon super an und haben fast keine nervigen Obertöne (Stichwort EQ). In Kombination mit Evans Resonant Fellen musste ich zumindest auf den Hängetoms nichts dämpfen, das 16er nur vom Sustain her etwas anpassen.

Die Felle reagieren allerdings sehr stark auf Stöcke mit runden Tips. Die Spielspuren sind optisch sehr leicht auszumachen, keine Dellen oder Krater, aber die Einschlagsstellen sind zu sehen. Zur Haltbarkeit auch in punkto Sound kann ich noch nichts sagen, ich denke aber das man diese Felle bei regelmäßigem Spiel öfter wechseln muss, als ihre doppelagigen Kollegen. Der doch recht hohe Anschaffungspreis lohnt sich aber.

Produktbewerung der Evans G-Plus Clear Tomfelle

Diese Felle erzeugen einen wahnsinnigen knackigen Sound, sind aber dennoch dicker als andere einschichtige Felle und stellen somit den perfekten "Mittelweg" zwischen ein- und mehrschichtigen Fellen dar. Jener "Mittelweg" zahlt sich auch im Punkto Haltbarkeit aus. Der erzeugte Sound ist schön und sie lassen sich gut, geradezu kinderleicht, stimmen. Kann ich also jedem nur empfehlen.

Früher hab’ ich Remo-Felle benutzt, die waren auch wirklich gut – aber die Evans finde ich mittlerweile viel besser, vor allem die Snarefelle von Evans sind einfach nur klasse.
